The Secret introduced many to the Law of Attraction which is the concept that their thoughts can influence not only their actions, but the experiences they bring into their lives as well. It is a must read for anyone especially as you head into College. As students we can shape our existence and improve our lives.

It’s an inspiring book that will help you make personal and career choices to lead to an amazing life especially when making career choices, or business.
2 Influential Books on Finances
How To Live Well Without Owning A Car
How to Live Well Without Owning a Car is the most important manual on how to live without cars, no matter where you live. I’m here to tell you this book will change how you look at the economics of transportation.
Starting out it lays out the facts behind car ownership and exactly how much it costs us, and our society as a whole. I found that the economics angle, as opposed to the “Save the Earth” approach, is strangely refreshing. Let’s be honest, most people care a hell of a lot more about your bank account than for our carbon footprint.
The Total Money Makeover
This book is in the words of Dave Ramsey “not sophisticated and complicated.” It is not for financial experts, neither is it a finance manual. But it’s not earth shattering, or world changing. Simply put it is a presentation of a plan that will help individuals and families cope with their finances, and teach them how to avoid debt, and create wealth.
2 Influential Books on Cooking
Cookwise
Cookwise is an excellent resource for beginner cook which is why this is great for college students or those interested in a culinary career. It is a bit outdated but overall provides some great resources on the basics of cooking and culinary arts. It provides intriguing curiosity about cooking versus providing sincere inspiration. But overall its a great read a must have for any library.
In Defense of Food
In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan’s is full of advice to start eating healthy, and right. Which is really important as a college student. Eating healthy, and being healthy can be the difference maker to help you perform mentally at a level beyond your other classmates. Above all this books teaches us how to eat right, be healthy by teaching us the timing of eating, and the correct moderation of food. The underlying theme being to eat healthier, eat less, and stick to the veggies. It’s a great handbook for anyone looking to embrace a healthy successful lifestyle.

I was so very excited to find this article. I am planning a return to academia and was looking for some books that I thought would help return my mind to a functioning state. I was excited, until seeing Barack Hussein Obama “Mmmm, Mmmm, Mmmm”s book listed under “Influential Political books”. If by influential you mean Brainwashed drivel to sway you away from a more intelligent way of thinking. It is because of this entry that I say “Boooo”.
