Jeremy, MN asks: Is there any benefit of signing up with a local school providing an online degree versus signing up to one cheaper out of state?

Ask Dave says: It really depends on the cost difference. Being able to go to the brick and mortar building from time to time could really help you with your studies as some online degree programs still allow you to access the school’s facilities, and gives you somewhere to meet up with your peers in your class.

Also, it allows you to access an information not posted on the website, like used text book sales, or other important equipment sales.

Check with your local school to see what advantages they might have over attending an out of state online degree program, and work at valuing anything extra the local school might be able to give you. If there aren’t any major advantages that you would take advantage of, then your location doesn’t matter, and attend whatever school meets your economic and curriculum needs.
