Landscape Architect
For those who like the outdoors, drawing and getting their hands dirty, a career in landscape architecture may be the career for you. In this career, you will be responsible for taking mundane outdoor spaces and turning them into living works of art.
A landscape architect is responsible for taking an outdoor space and designing a layout that allows that space to be used to its fullest potential. In his job, the landscape architect will plan out driveways, paths, brushes, grass types, and tree placements. Once the drawn up plan is accepted, the landscape architect must then oversee the actual work through to its completion.
In order to be a landscape architect one must first get a four year degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited college.
Licensing is then needed, in most states, before being able to work as a landscape architect. One can apply for the license after they have successfully received their degree.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, landscape architect employment will increase at a higher rate than the average employment compared to all other occupations. The median yearly salary for this job is $55,100.
