A digital photographer can expect an approximate salary starting from $29,775 to $70,503. A digital photographer is like the general photographer but they shoot their pictures using special digital cameras instead of the traditional camera that uses gelatin-based roll film. Whereas a normal camera does not permit the photographer to view the images taken by him or her till they are processed, the digital camera provides them with the option to view the image immediately and take another photograph if there are any mistakes.
Though the digital photographer has many advantages over the normal photographer, they need to be inventive and keep up with the latest trends of photography. Apart from just shooting they also need to have an in-depth knowledge about light settings and exposures in order to deliver the best output to his or her clients. Digital photographers are required to co-ordinate between the clients and understand the requirements of the task in hand.
They also have to co-ordinate between the art directors. Their job requires them to cover various events from parties, marriages to sporting events, and disasters etc. The digital photographer needs to understand the exact needs of their client and complete the shooting process accordingly and within schedule. This job requires extensive traveling and one has to work at odd hours of the day. At times the field photographer might have to work non-stop for long periods of time. While most digital photographers work as freelancers, there are many who work for newspapers, magazines, studios etc.
