Field Photographer

A field photographer is like the general photographer but they have to shoot their pictures on location, unlike some photographers whose work is confined to the studio. A field photographer needs to be innovative and keep up with the latest trends of photography in order to supply his or her client with the best possible output. Field photographers are required to co-ordinate between the clients and understand the requirements of the task in hand.
Their job requires them to cover various events from parties, marriages to sporting events, and disasters etc. The field photographer needs to understand the exact needs of their client and complete the shooting process accordingly and within schedule. This job requires extensive traveling and one has to work at odd hours of the day. At times the field photographer might have to work non-stop for long periods of time.
There are some risks involved too with this job, especially if the field photographer has to cover dangerous assignments like covering a war or local events that are dangerous in nature, like a hijacking scenario. Senior field photographers work in tandem with a group of other photographers and they also have to keep in touch with the production house they are working with. While some field photographers work for large studios, some of them are freelancers and work by themselves. Field photographers at times have to work in collaboration with graphic artists and art directors.
