A make up artist is responsible for doing the hair and make up of a person who needs to appear on TV, fashion shows, concerts, etc. Applying normal make up is not the only thing that a make up artist may be required to do. Make Up Artist Qualifications
Most make up artists have certificates in beauty therapy, make up, fashion, etc. They may start their career as a make up artist by being an assistant to an experienced make up artist, or may first work in beauty salons. Aside from studying general hair and make up, taking specialized make up courses such as a course in media make up, production arts, etc. may be advisable.
