Biologist
Biology is one of the most important areas of modern society. It addresses the things that matter most to human beings: our health, safety and well-being.
A career in biology is typically as a researcher or a teacher. For those biologists who choose the researcher career route, there are a multitude of options. For example, a research biologist might work on solving a major health issue such as cancer, malaria or AIDS. Other researchers might work on more foundational theoretical work that is of interest primarily to academicians. Many biologists even take their knowledge oversees to help third world nations with less knowledge. Other biologists work to combat the threat of biological terrorism.
If you chose the teacher route, then you can expect to teach either in a middle school, high school or college setting. You’ll need different degrees and different training for each of these teaching positions.
