In economics, it is said that a business will gain advantage if it will get the best quality of labor at the cheapest cost. However, this is not always the case. By taking other circumstances and events into consideration, compensation of workers greatly affect the productivity of the company and the behavior of the workers. Hence, companies usually employ a compensation administrator in order to specifically work on this issue of compensation.

A compensation administrator is in charge of managing and coordinating the compensation program of the workers in a company. He or she serves as the middleman between the company management and the ordinary company workers. In doing this task, the compensation administrator creates reports, monitors policies regarding workers compensation, and coordinates to the management the concerns and sometimes the demands of the ordinary workers. Aside from this, he or she is also responsible for the administration of the claims of the employees with regard to wages and other forms of compensation. An important duty in relation to this position is the harmonization of the relationship between the ordinary workers and the management of the company with respect to the matters of compensation such as wages, allowances, and other forms of compensation.

A bachelor’s degree is required as the minimum educational attainment for the position of compensation administrator. Related work experience of two to four years may also be required in order to make effective judgments that usually require creativity and practical knowledge. The average annual salary of a compensation administrator is $55,000.
