Event Manager
Event managers do a lot of things in their job but their most basic task is making sure that the event goes on as planned. He or she should be able to keenly observe all of the details and do everything to keep things in order. The event manager should always stick to the specifications of the ones who asked for the event to be organized. Their requests on how the event should be done should always be the top priority. It is the event manager’s responsibility to find the right venue for the event. With this, he or she should also be able to know a little about all the different industries connected to the event.
The event manager would have to coordinate with a lot of people from different industries so he or she should be knowledgeable of the terms and the process to be able to make better transactions. The event manager should be aware of the issues related to the industries and should be able to talk about it well. One of the most important tasks of an event manager is to do prior research and make realistic plans for the event. These plans include a revenue projection which she would have to coordinate with the Marketing department closely with and a promotional plan for the campaigning of the event.
Normally, agencies do not require a college degree for this job but it would be better if there is one. It would also be a plus if there is a master’s degree and sufficient experience on the job to accompany it. The average event manager’s salary is $39,620.
