A Human Resource Manager plays a seminal role in ensuring that members in all levels of a company organization are satisfied with how the whole system works. He or she is responsible to a number of job functions, among them sourcing and selecting quality people, ensuring that they are properly oriented on the vision and mission of a company, and implementing training and development programs that can enhance their talents and skills.
Aside from these tasks, a Human Resource Manager is also responsible in maintaining effective personnel administration through implementing company processes and policies, and therefore must be knowledgeable in identifying issues and problems of employees and communicating with them to formulate possible solutions and resolutions. Lastly, one of the main functions of the job is managing employee compensation and benefits, which requires substantial experience in executing payroll processes, and creating programs on rewards and recognition.
With a job that necessitates mastery in multi-tasking, a human resource manager must display excellent leadership skills as the job calls for constant meetings and coordination with his/her staff and officers from other departments.
Companies accept human resource manager candidates with a substantial educational background, preferable a University Degree in Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, Human Resources, Business Administration, and in other related Social Sciences. Because of the number of responsibilities involved in job, big companies require their candidates to have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in all facets of human resource management.
