Cardiac Sonographer
A Cardiac Sonographer, or better known as an Echocardiographer, or more by the literal career title of a cardiac ultrasound technologist is a medical career specializing in the anatomy and functions of the cardiovascular system, specifically the heart.
Cardiac Sonographers specialize in the field of examining the heart using sophisticated ultrasound machines that allow medical staff to view the heart’s performance. Cardiac Sonographers evaluate and assess the movements of the heart, size of the chambers, orientation of the parts, the rate of blood flow to the valves, and muscular irregularities of the heart.
However, Cardiac Sonographers are not entitled to diagnose any heart disease present. They report to diagnostic Cardiac Sonographers for further assessments.

The salary of a Cardiac Sonographer ranges from $50,000 to $80,000 depending on the employers’ status and location. This salary range came from a typical employment listing in New York.
Required Education
A Cardiac Sonographer is a job that requires concentrating on the medical and technical fields. An applicant is required to hold a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Echocardiogram and must have passed the National Registry Examination.
But for a rising number of medical institutions, Cardiac Sonographers on staff must have finished a Bachelor’s Degree. This requirement is coming from the increasing complexity of the technology being used, more than an advancement in the understanding of the heart.
