Inspiration
There are many amazing people that made it in life without a degree, but as the world continues to move forward that becomes more and more difficult. Now, most people that achieve their dreams have spent many years in school, honing their talents and increasing their overall knowledge.
After the technology bubble collapsed, I didn’t think I would get very far with my degree, and at first, I didn’t, but that was because I wasn’t thinking in the right way. I was stuck to the idea that I had to fill a role that already existed, and once I shook this notion, I was able to pitch myself to fit roles that hadn’t previously existed. I became a Communication Manager for an online publication, a Community Manager for a company that was trying to move from being primarily business to business to shifting to business to customer.
Most people entering school today, will find themselves taking on careers that don’t even exist today, helping engineer new polymers, building new technology, solving medical mysteries, and creating entirely new fields of science, psychology, engineering, and technology.
It is an amazing time to be alive as technology embeds itself in every facet of our society, pulling advancement along at an ever increasing pace.
