Faulkner University

Faulkner University dates back to the year 1942, when an institution named Montgomery Bible School was founded in Montgomery, Alabama. It has since been renamed twice, first to Alabama Christian College in 1953 and then to Faulkner University in 1985. It is a privately run Christian school affiliated with the Church of Christ. Faulkner currently enrolls some 3,000 students and just over 100 staff on a 74-acre urban campus. Faulkner University has satellite campuses in Birmingham, Huntsville and Mobile.

There are various schools within Faulkner University containing dozens of departments that focus on a broad selection of majors. The College of Arts and Sciences offers courses in the computer sciences, English, mathematics and other areas. The Harris College of Business & Executive Administration provides bachelor’s degrees in business administration, management, information and information systems. The College of Biblical Studies offers certain levels of Christian-oriented courses. Graduate programs at Faulkner University include criminal justice, management, biblical studies, education and the liberal arts.

Faulkner University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), a regional accreditation agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. SACS provides accreditation to institutions within an eleven-state area, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
