Judson College
Judson College is a woman’s liberal arts school that was established in Marion, Alabama in 1838. It is a privately-run Christian institution that is affiliated with the Baptist Church. It is located on a 105-acre campus, home to just 300 female students, maintaining a low student to faculty ratio of 11:1.
Academic programs at Judson College provide bachelor’s degrees to undergraduates with an emphasis on the liberal arts. Majors in this area include chemistry, criminal justice, history, mathematics, music, psychology and education. A number of pre-professional programs are also available to students, preparing them for further studies in dentistry, engineering, law, medicine, therapy, pharmacy and a number of other subjects. Several minors relating to equine science and medicine are also available at Judson. The US Army maintains a Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program at Judson College.
Judson College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), a regional accreditation agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. SACS provides accreditation to institutions within an eleven-state area, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
