Bethesda Christian University

The Bethesda Christian University was founded by Yonggi Cho in 1976 for the purpose of educating leaders to have a solid Christian foundation derived from Pentecostal theology as well as a vision for world missions. It is a school of higher education that prepares Korean/English speaking men and women to be servant leaders in the Church, community and the global society.

The university campus is located at Anaheim, Orange County, California which is about 30 miles south of Los Angeles. Bethesda offers the degree of Bachelor of Arts with majors in Religion, Music, Early Childhood Education, Design and Business Administration. B.A. in religion has four concentrations including Biblical Studies, Pastoral Ministry, Christian Education and Missions. A total of 126 hours of course work is required for the B.A. in Early Childhood Education while the B.A. in Music and Design requires 135 hours of course work. The required hours of course work for B.A. in Religion may either be 126 or 135, depending upon the concentration. An online degree program is offered for students who are not able to attend on-campus classes. Online programs are available only for B.A. Religion, Master of Arts in Biblical Studies and Master of Divinity.

Tuition per semester hour is $ 231.00 for undergraduate and master’s programs. Doctorate programs’ tuition cost is $ 320.00 per semester hour. Textbooks cost approximately $ 150.00 per semester while student health insurance is about $ 200.00.

Bethesda Christian University is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education which recognizes the university’s undergraduate programs. Its accreditation from the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools include both undergraduate and graduate programs. The California Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education has granted permission for the Pre-school Teacher, Pre-school Director and English as Second Language programs.
