California Institute of Integral Studies
The California Institute of Integral Studies, a private graduate school founded in 1968, is recognized for its synthesis of academics and various spiritual traditions especially Eastern schools of thought. The California Institute of Integral Studies, or CIIS, has no official religion or spiritual path though it has historical roots among followers of the Bengali sage Sri Aurobindo,.
CIIS operates three schools in three locations south of the Civic Center district in San Francisco, California: the School of Professional Psychology, the School of Consciousness and Transformation and the School of Undergraduate Studies.
It has a total of 19 academic programs, with the School of Professional Psychology offering 4 masters and 1 doctoral program, and the School of Consciousness and Transformation offering 7 masters and 6 doctoral programs. CIIS provides a bachelors completion program as well.
CIIS is also an accredited member of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). In 2003, the Doctor of Psychology program in Clinical Psychology was accredited by the American Psychological Association.
CIIS has a total of nearly 1100 students from 33 states and 15 countries and a faculty of 66. The ratio of students to faculty is 18 : 1. Therapy is made available by advanced graduate students and post-graduate interns. This is offered to individuals, couples, and families. This is offered by CIIS as reduced-fee psychotherapy services to the general public in four centers.
Full-time tuition for a Bachelor’s Degree Completion Program is $21,285 per year. For a Master’s Degree Program the tuition is 419,550 per year. For a Doctoral Degree the tuition is $22,090 per year.
