California Lutheran University

California Lutheran University (CLU) was originally founded as the California Lutheran College in 1961 by the American Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church in America following the donation by Richard Pederson of his scenic ranch in the Conejo Valley. Its charter was changed into a university in 1986 to better reflect the variety of its undergraduate, graduate and professional programs.

CLU’s main campus is located in the city of Thousand Oaks located midway between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. Its main campus spans 225 acres set against Mt. Clef Ridge. At the heart of the landscaped campus is Kingsmen Park which is surrounded by the CLU’s academic and residential facilities. Satellite graduate centers are situated in Woodland Hills and Oxnard.

With 36 majors and 31 minors, students can broaden their base of knowledge from a variety of studies ranging from ancient Greek to Multimedia. CLU’s largest major is Business Administration followed closely by Biology, Communication, Education and Psychology.
