California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) belongs to the 23-campus California State University system. It opened in San Luis Obispo in 1938 as California State Polytechnic College’s Voorhis Unit. It became a university in1972.
Located in W. Temple Avenue in Pomona about 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, Cal Poly Pomona maintains nine colleges and centers in its 1438-acre campus, enrolling more than 21,000 students and employing more than 3,000 faculty members. Student to faculty ratio at Cal Poly Pomona is 29:1.

Academic costs for undergraduate students (6.1 or more units) are $3,048 per year; credential program participants (6.1 or more) – $3,540; graduate students (6.1 or more) – $3,756; doctoral program students – $7,926. Academic costs exclude miscellaneous fees. Tuition costs for nonresident students do not exceed $10,170.
