Chapman University

Founded in 1861 as Hesperian College in Woodland, California, Chapman University is one of the oldest private universities in California.

Chapman University’s 50-acre campus is situated in Old Towne, Orange County where it operates seven schools and colleges: College of Educational Studies, College of Performing Arts, Lawrence and Kristina Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, George L. Argyros School of Business and Economics (home to the A. Gary Anderson Center for Economic Research, C. Larry Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance, Leatherby Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Ethics, and the Walter Schmid Center for International Business), Schmid College of Science, School of Law, and Wilkinson College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

It confers undergraduate degrees in 45 majors with more than 60 areas of study. On the graduate level, it confers degrees in nearly 30 programs with more than 30 areas of study.

Its most popular undergraduate fields of study are Business Administration (BS in Accounting, BS in Business Administration, BA in Economics, Full-Time Master of Business Administration, Flex Master of Business Administration, and Executive Master of Business Administration), Communication, Studies, Film and Production, and Public Relations and Advertising.

It also conducts special programs such as a wide range of off-campus internships and study-abroad programs in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, New Zealand and the Americas.

The University enrolls more than 6,000 undergraduate and graduate students States representing students from 50 states and 60.

With average undergraduate class size of 30, it has a student to faculty ratio of 15:1.

2009/2010 tuition fee for full-time undergraduate students (12- 18 credits) is $17,895 per semester; for part-time students, tuition is $1,115 per credit. Campus housing cost per semester can cost as low as $4,776 (no meal plan) to as high $11,107.
