Fresno Pacific University

Fresno Pacific University was originally the Pacific Bible Institute when it was established in 1944 by the Pacific District Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. Although its original location was at Van Ness Avenue, the school moved to a new address in Fresno in 1958 where, to this day, its main campus stands. The school changed its name in 1977 to Fresno Pacific University to reflect its widening scope in the delivery of educational programs and its growing student enrollment.

Today, Fresno Pacific is a four-year liberal arts university in Fresno, California with a mission to “develop its students for leadership and service through excellence in Christian higher education.”

To achieve this, it offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs through its four distinguished schools of Business; Education; Humanities, Religion & Social Sciences; and Natural Sciences. It also has an online educational program for students who want to pursue professional studies but may be too busy with their careers or family life to attend the regular classes.

Cost of admission for academic year 2009-2010 is US$23,898 for undergraduate students. This does not include the fees for room and board which varies depending on the housing facility applied for. Single houses, apartments, suites and room-only types of accommodations are available.

For graduate students, the cost of tuition is US$495 per credit for Teacher Education and US$455 per credit for other programs. The same cost applies for those interested to enroll in the university’s online education program although an additional fee of US$90 is applied as application fee.

Financial aid in the form of scholarships, loans and grants are extended to students to help ease the burden of cost of admission.
