Fairfield University

Fairfield University is a private university in Fairfield, Connecticut. The University was established by the Society of Jesus in 1942 and strives to instill a sense of religious values and moral responsibility in its students. Fairfield is known for its programs in
Accounting and Finance, Art History, Biology, Communication Studies, International Studies, Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, Nursing, Religious Studies, and Sociology.

Fairfield is considered to be a moderately difficult school to be accepted to. Approximately 59 percent of those people who apply receive an acceptance letter from the University. Admission Requirements

Fairfield accepts online and paper applications from prospective students. Along with the Common Application form, you will need to submit your SAT or ACT results, your official high school transcript, and a secondary school report from that has been completed by your guidance counselor. A personal essay is also required. Interviews are not required as part of the application process, but you may request one if you wish.

Prospective Fairfield University students can apply for an Early Decision by submitting their application by November 15. You will find out whether you have been accepted by January 1. The deadline for a Regular Decision application is January 15, and decisions are released April 1.

Tuition at Fairfield University

Going to Fairfield University costs $35,510 for tuition. Room and board costs an additional $10,850, and all students are required to pay $565 in fees.

Sports at Fairfield University

The Fairfield University varsity teams are known as the Stags, and they compete in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the NCAA Division 1. The University has 20 teams that compete at this level, including:

The basketball, lacrosse, soccer, and volleyball teams have performed well in competition. Students can also participate in several sports clubs at the University. The equestrian club won the regional championship six times between 1996 and 2003. The men’s volleyball club won the New England Collegiate Volleyball League Division II Championship in 2006 and 2007.
