Yale University was founded in 1701. This private university is located in New Haven, Connecticut. Yale is the third-oldest university in the United States and is a member of the Ivy League. One of the most prestigious institutions of higher education on the planet, Yale graduates include a number of U.S. presidents, as well as foreign leaders.

Programs at Yale

Admission Requirements
Prospective students can apply to Yale online or by submitting an application on paper. Applying online is recommended. If you want to find out whether you will be offered a place at Yale early, the deadline for applications is November 1. For a regular decision, you need to have your materials postmarked by December 31.
Along with your application form, you will be asked to submit the College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB) SAT I and any two SAT II Subject Tests or the ACT with Writing. The most important document you submit to Yale is your high school transcript. If you want to impress the Admissions Committee, you need to show them that you have taken a variety of courses during high school, and your performance there will likely be given more weight than your SAT or ACT results. There are no official cutoffs for standardized tests.
Tuition Costs
Going to Yale will cost $34,530 for tuition. Plan to add an additional $10,470 to the bill to pay for the cost of room and board.
Sports at Yale
Yale is home to 35 sports teams that compete in the NCAA Division I, the Eastern College Athletic Conference, Ivy League Conference, and the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association. The football team is ranked #2 in the number of all-time wins among Division I teams.
Online Courses at Yale
Yale offers several introductory courses online. Open Yale courses are offered in Astronomy, English, History, Psychology, Religious Studies, and more. You don’t need to register for any of the available courses, and you would not receive college credit on completion.
