Baptist College of Florida

The Baptist College of Florida was founded in 1943 as a school for ministers in Graceville, Florida. The school experienced its ups and downs over the following decades, becoming a four-year school in 1976, and adding associate’s degrees to its programs in 1988. It is a private Christian institution located on a 232-acre campus, where 564 students study under twenty-two full-time faculty.

As a religious school, the majority of academic programs at the Baptist College of Florida place an emphasis on subjects of a biblical nature, though some degree programs are available in other areas. Bachelor’s degrees are offered in the religious areas of biblical studies, Christian studies, ministry, missions, Christian counseling, contemporary worship ministry and leadership/Christian education and ministry studies. Non-religious programs include elementary education, English (secondary also), history and social studies (secondary also), music and music education. Associate’s degrees can be obtained by students of divinity, Christian education and music.

The Baptist College of Florida is accredited by the Commission on Colleges Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), a regional accreditation agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. SACS provides accreditation to institutions within an eleven-state area, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
