Columbus State University

Columbus State University is a public institution located in Columbus, Georgia. It was originally founded as a state college in 1958, and has since relocated and remained a member of the University System of Georgia. It is located on a campus about one hundred miles southwest of Atlanta that is over one hundred acres in size, where just under 7,600 students study at a student to faculty ratio of 17:1.

Academic programs at Columbus State University provide students with associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and a specialist degree (in education). Associate’s degrees are available as Associate in Science and Associate in Applied Science degrees. Bachelor’s degrees are available as bachelor’s of arts, fine arts, business administration, science, science in education and science in nursing degrees. Master’s degrees are provided as master’s of business administration, science, education, nursing and public administration. A United States Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program is maintained at Columbus State.

Columbus State University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), a regional accreditation agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. SACS provides accreditation to institutions within an eleven-state area, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
