Flagler College

Founded in 1968 as a four-year, private, all-female liberal arts institution, Flagler College is located in St. Augustine, Florida. The original building was contained within the hotel at Ponce de Leon Hall, built by industrialist Henry Morrison Flagler. The campus is 19 acres in size, and today, around 2,500 students are enrolled there at a student to faculty ratio of 20:1.

Flagler College provides degrees at the undergraduate level. Three different bachelor’s degrees are offered: a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration. Over a dozen separate majors may be pursued within these degrees, as well as a comparable number of minors. Majors include accounting, business administration, communication, economics, three education-related subjects, arts, environmental sciences, graphic design, history, the political sciences and others. Notable minors include journalism, anthropology and international studies. Pre-professional programs are available in human services and pre-law.

Flagler College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), a regional accreditation agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. SACS provides accreditation to institutions within an eleven-state area, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
