Florida Christian College
Florida Christian College was founded in 1976 under the name of Central Florida Bible College. In 1985, it was moved to its current location in Kissimmee, Florida, and its name was changed to the current title. It is a private liberal arts institution, offering nondenominational Christian teachings. It enrolls around 230 students at a student to faculty ratio of 21:1.
There are six different forms of academic programs at Florida Christian College. Certifications are offered in worldview studies, associate’s degrees are offered in the arts and applied sciences respectively. Three bachelor’s degrees are available: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Theology. Academic programs at FCC place a strong emphasis on study in Christian subjects, and some fifteen different majors within the arts, sciences and theology, all of a religious nature, may be pursued within a bachelor’s degree. Some examples of these subjects would be Christian leadership, counseling and ministry. One degree, a Bachelor of Science in Christian Leadership, may be completed via online coursework.
Florida Christian College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), a regional accreditation agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. SACS provides accreditation to institutions within an eleven-state area, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
