Hobe Sound Bible College
Hobe Sound Bible College is an independent theological college located in the town of Hobe Sound, Florida. Established in 1960 by Dr. Stephen D. Herron who later served as the school’s president for 25 years, the aim of the college is “to provide Christ-centered, Bible-based education in the Wesleyan tradition.” Hobe Sound was founded with the goal of establishing a Christian educational institution that would uphold the standards and principles of conservative Bible holiness, thereby producing graduates that are servant-leaders who think Biblically, live Spirit-filled lives and glorify God in all that they do.
The college offers bachelor’s degree programs in ministerial education, missions, Christian teacher education, Christian music education, general Christian studies; associate degree programs in Bible, pre-professional studies, missions, secretarial science; and certificate programs. Being a theological college, every academic program offered by Hobe Sound has three basic components: Bible Core, General Studies, and Professional Studies. In some cases, a program may also include a minor. A student must fulfill all requirements in each component in order to earn the degree he or she is aiming for.
Hobe Sound Bible College also offers associate and bachelor of arts degrees through correspondence for students who want to complete their course but who, for some reason, are not able to attend the regular classes.
Cost of attendance per semester at Hobe Sound Bible College is US$4,940. This includes tuition at US$2,340, room and board also at US$2,340 and fees of US$260. Financial aid is extended to help students pay for their cost of tuition. Assistance comes in the form of loans, scholarships, grants and campus employment.
On-campus housing is available at the college although not for all students.
