Lynn University
Lynn University or LU is a private, non-profit liberal arts university located in Boca Raton, Florida. Founded in 1962 as Marymount College by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, the school is named after noted philanthropist, Eugene M. Lynn and was officially renamed Lynn University in 1991.
LU offers over 17 undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree programs along with Master’s and doctorate degrees through its seven academic units; namely, the Burton D. Morgan School of Aeronautics, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business and Management, Eugene M. and Christine E Lynn College of International Communication, Conservatory of Music, Donald E and Helen L. Ross College of Education and College of Hospitality Management.
There are around 2,410 students enrolled at LU under the mentorship of fulltime faculty members. The student to faculty ratio is 16 to 1.
Cost of attendance for academic year 2010-2011 for fulltime undergraduate day students is US41,800 broken down into full-year tuition of US$29,400, required fees of US$1,500 and room and board at US$10,900. Other estimated costs include US$1,000 for books and supplies, US$1,600 for personal allowance and US$2,000 for transportation for an additional total of US$4,600. For undergraduate evening students and those enrolled in the online courses, the cost of tuition is US$305 per credit plus fees of US$50 per term. Graduate students pay a tuition cost of US$605 per credit plus fees of US$200 for a Master’s Degree or US$825 per credit plus fees of US$200 for a Doctoral Degree. Financial aid in the form of loans, grants and scholarships is extended to help students with their cost of attendance.
On-campus housing is available and is, in fact, required of all freshman students.
