Miami International University of Art & Design

Miami International University of Art & Design is a private arts school located in Miami, Florida. It is part of The Art Institutes, a network of some forty institutions throughout North America. It was founded in 1965 and is currently located on a four acre campus where some 1,500 students study at a student to faculty ratio of just 15:1.

Like most schools of its nature, Miami International centers its academic programs on the applied arts. The general areas of study are design, fashion, media arts and general education, with associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees provided. Examples of degrees include accessory design, fashion design, graphic arts, interior design, visual arts, computer animation, web design, visual effects & motion graphics and audio production. Master’s degrees are offered in the areas of graphic design, interior design, visual arts, computer animation and film.

Miami International University of Art & Design is accredited by the Commission on Colleges Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), a regional accreditation agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. SACS provides accreditation to institutions within an eleven-state area, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
