Nova Southeastern University

Nova Southeastern University first began as a college in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 1964. Over the years, it has grown into a full university, and is one of the six largest non-profit universities in the country, home to some 28,000 students and a 300-acre campus. The student to faculty ratio is 41:1. NSU offers undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and professional degrees both on-campus and online.

There are numerous degrees available to students of NSU. At the undergraduate level alone, there are over seventy academic programs offered, including around forty majors plus several minors (many subjects are offered as both majors and minors). Around twenty undergraduate programs are available to online students, some examples being business administration, health science, leadership and marketing. There are around fifty different master’s degrees available, such as accounting, college student affairs, family therapy, leadership, marine biology and occupational therapy, among many others. Doctoral programs include computer science, conflict resolution and analysis, information systems and nursing, plus several others. Sixteen different professional degrees can be obtained from NSU, in areas such as dental medicine, law, optometry and physical therapy.

Nova Southeastern University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), a regional accreditation agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. SACS provides accreditation to institutions within an eleven-state area, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
