Stetson University

Stetson University was founded in 1883, making it the oldest private University in the State of Florida (and the oldest chartered University of any kind). It is located in DeLand, Florida, where it sits on a 174-acre campus. It provides bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees to over 2,200 students and maintains an impressive student to faculty ratio of just 10:1.

There are over sixty different majors for undergraduates to choose from at Stetson University. There are both majors and minors available in subjects like American studies, economics, environmental science, integrative health science, international studies, modern languages & literatures, religious studies, sports management, family business, management information systems and many others. There are fifteen different graduate programs available. Four are centered on education, one in English, six in law (including a Juris Doctor), one in accounting, two in business and one executive MBA. A US Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program is available to students of Stetson University.

Stetson University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), a regional accreditation agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. SACS provides accreditation to institutions within an eleven-state area, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
