Dalton State College
Dalton State College, founded in 1963, is a state college located in Dalton, Georgia. Formerly known as Dalton Junior College and Dalton College, the university changed its name in 1998 to the current-known Dalton State College. Dalton State College is one of the eight state universities in the University System of Georgia. The curriculum is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. There are almost 5,000 students studying in the university, with a portion of international students coming from 38 different countries. Over 60 percent of students are females.
Dalton State College offers Certificate, Associate’s, and Bachelor’s programs in seven schools: Business, Education, Liberal Arts, Sciences and Mathematics, Nursing, Social Work, and Technology. Undergraduate students can study for Bachelor of Applied Science, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Social Work, and Bachelor of Science (in Biology, Education, and Mathematics). The Associate of Arts and Associate of Science are available in Economics and Business Administration. There are also Continuing Education programs for adults, seniors, or professionals who want to continue learning. Online courses are offered for some majors and are updated regularly.
