Emmanuel College

Several wooden structures originally used by visitors to the Franklin Springs Resort Area housed the Franklin Springs Institute established in 1919. This institution would eventually be known as Emanuel College. Two hotels that were also used as resort facilities were converted into buildings that would comprise the first school campus. Emmanuel College is located at 181 Spring Street, Franklin Springs, Georgia. It occupies a beautiful hilltop location just off one of North Georgia’s main highway.

The present campus has benefitted from several additions and improvements since the college’s establishment. Some of the notable facilities and buildings found in the campus include the Shaw-Leslie Learning Resources Center, the John W. Swails Center and the Taylor Auditorium. The Shaw-Leslie Library has a collection of more than 80,000 volumes consisting of books, electronic books, video tapes, music scores and other materials. The John W. Swails Center is an auditorium that serves as venue for chapel services, theatrical performances and convocations. The Taylor Auditorium is likewise used by the college to hold important events such as cultural awareness programs and music recitals.

Emmanuel College offers programs leading to associate and bachelor’s degrees. Associate Degrees include Pre-Pharmacy (A.A.) and Allied Services (A.S.). There are over 20 majors offered for the bachelor’s degrees in the college’s various department including English, Kinesiology, Mathematics, Music, Natural Sciences, Psychology and Social Sciences. The Student Success Center offers free tutorial services to all current students of Emmanuel College.

The college has revised its schedule of charges to include other charges in the tuition amount so as not to make cost estimation difficult. Resident students are charged $ 9,200.00 per semester inclusive of tuition, room and board. Commuting students are charged $ 6,440.00 per semester. Tuition cost for part-time or overload is $ 530.00 per credit hour.
