Hawaii Pacific University
Hawaii Pacific University is a private, co-educational, non-profit university located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Founded in 1965 as Hawaii Pacific College, it was not until later in 1990 when it was renamed Hawaii Pacific University to capture the massive developments going on at the school. To date, Hawaii Pacific remains the largest private university in the central Pacific.
Maintaining two main campuses – one located in downtown Honolulu and the other in a more quiet residential area – the university grants Bachelor’s, Master’s and Associate degrees through its five distinct colleges: College of Business Administration, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Natural and Computational Sciences, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and Center for English Language Programs.
For its graduate programs, the university also offers Master’s degrees in a wide-range of fields and academic disciplines.
For academic year 2009-2010, the total estimated cost of attendance at Hawaii Pacific University for undergraduate students is US$28,564 broken down into full-year tuition of US$14,860, room and board at US$11,094, and college-related expenses like books, insurance, technology fee and student bus pass at US$2,610. For full-time graduate students, the total cost of attendance at the university is US$25,739 broken down into full-year tuition of US$11,880, off-campus housing expense of US$11,094, health insurance at US$880, and books, supplies and transportation at US$1,885.
