East-West University
East-West University is a private academic institution founded in 1980. It is located in Chicago’s South Loop area specifically at 816 S. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. Its name can be a direct reference to its campus facilities consisting of an East Building and a West Building connected by an enclosed walkway. The West Building has 819 South Wabash Avenue as its official address.
The university’s location which is highly accessible by public transportation is in keeping with its primary nature as a commuter school. Most of the students commute to campus from their respective residences. In the absence of any official housing accommodation for students, East-West University provides assistance for independent housing opportunities to eligible students. A large pool of suitable rental housing is available due to the university’s proximity to public transportation systems.
Degrees offered include Bachelor’s Degrees in Business Administration, Bachelor’s Degree in Computer and Information Science, and various programs in the fields of Electronic Engineering, Biology, Islamic Studies and the Liberal Arts and Sciences. University governance is coordinated through the interaction between and among students, faculty, staff, administrators, directors and trustees, along with interested community members. The academic calendar of the university consists of three quarters of 11 weeks each plus a summer session of 9 weeks. Program schedules are available for day, evening and weekend classes. Faculty/student ratio is 20:1. Annual tuition is approximately $ 12,015.00. Students have to settle all accounts for the previous quarter before being allowed to register in any new quarter.
