Eureka College

Describing itself as a small and exceptionally supportive family, Eureka College offers a comprehensive liberal arts education with specific emphasis on leadership and service programs. Having just about 770 students, the college considers its small student population a definite advantage. It was chartered in 1855 by abolitionists who were members of the Christian Church (Disciplines of Christ).

Eureka College is one institution that takes its traditions seriously. These traditions including the Ivy Ceremony, “Neath the Elm”, Torchlight Parade and the Senior Rum Cake is part and parcel of the college’s long history. More than ceremonies to be observed every year, they facilitate forming of bonds that would forever tie its graduates in spirit. The students mostly came from Illinois, with a small number coming from other states and countries. The student/faculty ratio is 12:1.

The tree-lined campus stands on a 112-acre property that houses 24 buildings, two of which are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Its location in Eureka, Illinois is between Peoria and Bloomington. It is said to be one of the safest campuses in the nation being located in a peaceful residential community.
The college offers more than 50 majors, pre-professional programs as well as other programs of study. Extra-curricular activities are provided by more than 40 clubs and associations to keep campus life active and diverse. Off-campus programs are also facilitated by Eureka College in various countries around the globe.

Annual educational cost amounts to $ 24,830.00 inclusive of tuition, room, board, activity fee and general campus access fee. This covers a load of 12 to 18 semester hours for two terms. Categorized as a non-profit institution, Eureka’s educational costs are considerably lowered by its endowment funds.
