Illinois College
Illinois College is a private, residential, liberal arts institution founded in 1829. It is the first college in the State of Illinois to conduct classes and award baccalaureate degrees. Academic offerings include more than 45 programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees. Some of the offered majors include Accounting, American Studies, Art, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Education, English, Environmental Biology and Ecological Studies, Fine Arts, Gender and Women’s Studies, History, Interdisciplinary Studies, and many more. Special career paths are offered through the Teacher Certification Programs, 2-3 Combined Degrees and 3-1 Combined Degrees. For students to graduate, a series of general education requirements should be completed which is followed by a choice of major. Most students opt for an additional minor study or a second major.
The approximate annual cost of attending Illinois College is $ 21,300.00 inclusive of tuition and fees. Standard residence hall charge is $ 7,600.00 for double occupancy and full meal plan. One of the most appreciated features of the Illinois College campus is its New England-style quadrangle. The campus has also been benefited by its most recent additions including the Parker Science Center, the Bruner Fitness and Recreation Center, the Common Grounds Coffee Shop and a new residence hall. The historic campus has been partially retrofitted to provide students more accessibility to the facilities.
Total student population is about 1,000 while the student/faculty ratio is 13:1. International students should have completed primary and secondary education before applying for admission. They are also expected to have completed any national examination normally required for college admission.
