John Marshall Law School

Named after the nation’s fourth chief justice who was largely instrumental in transforming the US Supreme Court with his genius in recognizing the rule of law’s role in a constitutional democracy, John Marshall Law School has been consistently providing an education focused on the theory, philosophy and practice of law. It was founded in 1899 and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and the American Bar Association Section of Legal Education and Admission to the Bar. It is located at 315 S. Plymouth Court, Chicago, Illinois.

Programs and degrees offered by John Marshall Law School include General Practice (JD and Joint Degree), Intellectual Property Law (LLM, MS and Joint Degree), Advocacy and Dispute Resolution, Employee Benefits Law (LLM, MS and Joint Degree), International Law (LLM and Joint Degree), Real Estate Law (LLM, MS and Joint Degree), Information Technology and Privacy Law (LLM and MS), Tax Law (LLM, MS and Joint Degree) and Global/Study Abroad Programs. Certificate Programs in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Elder Law, Intellectual Property Law and Trial Advocacy are likewise offered.

Programs are provided by the Day and Evening Divisions. Both full-time and part-time programs are offered by the Day Division, while a full-time program can be completed in six semesters or three years, part-time programs would require four years and two summer sessions. Part-time programs in the Evening Division requires at least four years plus one summer session for completion. The summer term lasts for eight weeks.

J.D. and Graduate Program tuition cost $ 1,260.00 per semester hour. Tuition deposit costs $ 400.00 for J.D. Programs, $ 200.00 for LLM and MS Programs and $ 500.00 for foreign applicants. Flexible online programs are also offered by John Marshall Law School through its eClass courses for those intent on pursuing graduate legal education. There are about 1,436 students currently enrolled in the J.D. Program.
