DePauw University has been in the business of providing quality liberal arts education to students of diverse backgrounds since its founding in 1837 by the Methodist Church. Now on its 175th year, the university holds the reputation of being one of the finest residential liberal arts schools in the United States today. The university is known for its effective method of linking liberal arts education with real-life applications – a method that allows students to equip themselves with the necessary know-how and experience to deal with the challenges of and demands of an ever-changing world outside the campus.
Located in Greencastle, Indiana, the university stands on a 695-acre lot with 36 major buildings and a 520-acre nature park. The campus provides the perfect setting for an intensive study at the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Music.
To date, the university offers 42 majors in the College of Liberal Arts; while in the School of Music, three degree programs are offered. All undergraduate courses enhanced by the mentoring of faculty members equip graduates for post-graduate programs in law, medicine, business, engineering, and ministry.
The university has a total enrollment of 2,396 students and a faculty of 233 highly esteemed professors who are recognized leaders in their field. The student-to-faculty ratio is 10 is to 1 and the average size of a class is no more than 18 students.
On-campus housing is required by the university as it adheres to the belief that a well-rounded education is made possible when students interact with one another in a community.
Tuition and Fees for one academic year is US$33,330. Comprehensive charges, including tuition, room, board and fees is US$42,070. Financial aid is available to students who may find enrollment charges too steep.
