Indiana State University

The Indiana State University is a public doctoral research institute providing undergraduate and graduate education, focusing on community and public service. It has been recognized as the “Best in the Midwest” by the Princeton Review for five consecutive years.

Founded in 1865, the university evolved from a traditional school into a public co-educational university a decade later. Its student population comprises more than 10,000 total enrollees from diverse origins. Average class size is currently only twenty-four students with a teacher student ratio of 1:17.

The university offers degrees on the Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate and Education Specialist levels. It has six colleges and schools, which are the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Education, College of Nursing, Health and Human Services, College of Technology and School of Graduate Studies.

The top five undergraduate majors are Elementary Education, Early & Special Education, Criminology, Nursing, Business Administration and Communication.

Annual tuition and fees for undergraduate studies are as follows: resident students: $19,806 and non-resident students: $36,342. For resident graduate students, annual tuition fees currently come to around $23,582 and $32,514 for non-residents. Financial aid can be applied for at the Office of Student Financial Assistance.

The university also has Online Independent Study Program courses, which can be completed in a year’s time, in which a student can take many courses simultaneously. The course is available to both undergraduate and high school students. Tuition and fees for the online program are about $153.76 per credit hour to Indiana residents and $197.06 to non-residents. These rates exclude all other expenses.
