Allen College

Allen College, located in Waterloo, Iowa, is dedicated to a holistic approach to education. It is known for being at the forefront of educating healthcare professionals in Iowa and has the first and only 15-month accelerated BS Nursing program in the state.

Aside from their accelerated program the college also offers regular degree programs in nursing, radiography, clinical laboratory science, and nuclear medicine technology. In the works is a new program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. They also offer a Master of Science in Nursing program with five tracks, namely: Family Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult Psychiatric Mental health Nurse Practitioner, Health Education, and Leadership in Health Care Delivery. There are currently 382 undergraduate students and 80 grad students. A surprising 94% of the entire student body are women. Student to faculty ratio at 13 to 1 is considered to be among the top 16% of all colleges in the United States. Admission is selective with all of incoming freshmen belonging to the top half of their high school class and having an average score of 22.6 in the ACT.

The estimated cost of attendance is $15,591, which covers tuition, fees, and books and supplies for undergrads and $14,388 for grad students. Room and board costs about $6,816.

Allen College has suites located next to the campus. Suites are well furnished with common living areas, twelve double occupancy rooms, a kitchen, dining area, large bathrooms with a walk-in shower, whirlpool tub and half-bath, as well as utility rooms. On-campus day care is also available for working parents.
