About Ashford University
Established in 1918, Ashford is a private university located in Iowa with nearly 20,000 students. With a 25-acre urban campus, the University also has a full featured online distance College as well. The school belongs to the NAIA, and competes in the Midwest Collegiate Conference in a wide number of sports.
Beginning as a liberal arts College, the University has its roots in teacher education, and expanded the a broader set of degrees, including business, which led to its accreditation by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. In 2002, the University began offering online education, and transitioned to become Ashford from its previous name. Offering associates, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, with accelerated 1-year degree options, courses are available at all times. Offering a wide range of degrees, ranging from business to psychology, criminal justice and education, the University also offers an online Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
