Briar Cliff University

A Catholic university that adheres to the Franciscan tradition of service, Briar Cliff University opens its academic doors to students of all faiths while maintaining its fundamental moral and ethical values. It is located at 3303 Rebecca Street, Sioux City, Iowa. It occupies a hilltop campus in a city conveniently connected with other metropolitan areas.

Dubbed as a community within a community, the Briar Cliff campus houses various facilities including three academic buildings, four residence halls, a library, chapel, athletic facility and a student center. It has continuously offered since 1930 an academic environment that challenges the intellectual, social, physical, professional and spiritual potentials of its students. Degrees offered include Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Social Work and Associate of Arts. At least 120 semester credits are required for the completion of a bachelor’s degree while associate degrees require 60 semester credits. Aside from the traditional program degrees offered, the university also offers evening/weekend accelerated degree programs and online courses

There are four residence halls in the campus, each of which is staffed with a Residence Hall Director and Resident Assistants. These facilities comprised of the Alverno Hall, Baxter-Dr. Giovanni Hall, Noonan Hall and the Toller Hall, all house male and female students. Rented lofts are also available although they should be rented through Briar Cliff University. Full-time tuition for day classes is $ 21,867.00 annually while part-time tuition costs $ 729.00 per credit hour. Annual room and board rate is about $ 3,500.00 and $ 3,000.00 respectively.

Individualized attention from professors is given to the students both inside and outside the classroom to fully support their academic goals. This is made possible through small class sizes averaging 20 per class. The student/faculty ratio is 14:1. The whole campus is fully wired providing access to computers and campus labs 24 hours a day.
