Dordt College
Dordt College is a private Christian college founded in 1955 which takes its name from the Synod of Dort, a synod held in the Netherlands in 1618-1619. The reference to the synod may be explained by the college’s close affiliation with the Christian Reformed Church.
Located in Sioux Center, Iowa, Dordt College today embraces students from all parts of the country and other countries of the world who are interested in acquiring a Christ-centered education. It offers a comprehensive liberal arts education from the standpoint of a reformed Christian perspective. Students can choose from over 30 majors and 10 pre-professional programs and have a chance to earn four-year degrees in Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science in Engineering, and Bachelor of Social Work. There is also a two-year Associate of Arts degree and a Master of Education degree.
Students enrolled in the college are not confined to academics alone. They have other activities they can take part in like the band, the choir, drama club and other clubs including various sports and athletic events.
