Emmaus Bible College
Established in 1941 as Emmaus Bible School, Emmaus Bible College is now a regionally accredited institution of higher learning although it remains primarily a bible school. It was originally located in Oak Park, Illinois and transferred to its present location in Dubuque, Iowa in 1984. It adapted its present name upon the transfer and its official address is 2570 Asbury Road, Dubuque, Iowa. Dubuque is a beautiful city of rolling hills and is home to seven colleges and seminaries including the Emmaus Bible College.
The Emmaus campus consists of 24 acres of gently rolling land that houses various academic, administrative, recreational and residential facilities. Students come from at least 35 states and several foreign countries. While the student body is culturally diverse, the desire for servant leadership is common to all although most do not enter full-time ministry.
Emmaus Bible College has organized its academic programs into three curricular areas namely Core Studies, Ministry Studies and Professional Studies. Every student would have the Core Studies as part of their curriculum while the two other areas provide options and choices for elective coursework, major or minor. Several departments are under the Ministry Studies including Christian Education, Computer Studies, Counseling, Intercultural Studies and Music. Professional Studies have more or less similar departments with the exclusion of Counseling but with the addition of the Education Department and the Dual Degree Programs offered with Northeast Iowa Community College.
The estimated annual educational cost of residential students is $ 17,374.00 which is inclusive of tuition, room and board, student fees, room deposit and technology fee. Commuter students are charged approximately $ 11,728.00. Part-time students or those enrolled in less than 12 credits are charged $ 460.00 per credit hour. Credits in excess of 18.5 hours are charged $ 259.00 per credit hour. Free video lectures are provided through the college’s online media center- EmmausOnline.
