Faith Baptist Bible College & Theological Seminary
Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary is a private institution of higher education located in Ankeny, Iowa. Housed in a suburban campus, Faith, as the university is commonly called, was established in 1921 and traces its roots to the Omaha Bible Institute which was founded by William H. Jordan, a Presbyterian pastor whose vision for the institute was to educate men and women in ministry, theology and the study of the Bible. In 1949, when costs to maintain the school became too steep, John L. Patten, pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Omaha took over Omaha Bible Institute and with the help of Baptist organizations, changed the name of the school to Omaha Baptist Bible College. An expanding student population pushed the college to move to a bigger location in Ankeny in 1967 during which the school once again changed its name to Faith Baptist Bible College. A seminary was added in 1980 after Faith merged with the Denver Baptist Bible College.
Faith offers undergraduate and graduate programs to its students in line with its mission to prepare men and women seeking leadership positions in the fundamental Baptist churches and similar organizations through intensive biblical, vocational and general college-level education. A wide-range of majors are available in the areas of Bible & Theology, General Education, Christian Ministries, Christian School Education, Local Church Ministries, Christian Education, Missions & Evangelism, Music Ministries, and Pastoral Training.
