Kansas Wesleyan University
Kansas Wesleyan University (KWU) is a private, four-year liberal arts college located in Salina, Kansas. Founded in 1886, it has close affiliations with the United Methodist Church whose influence continues to be felt to this day even as the university welcomes students of all religious denominations. For over a century now, KWU continues to affirm its mission to “provide quality education to diverse students in a friendly Christian campus atmosphere that will allow them to grow and learn and take responsibility for their actions.”
KWU’s curriculum is founded on a strong liberal arts core that opens the way for students to better appreciate their chosen fields of specialization. With over 27 major programs available, KWU offers degrees in Associate of Arts, Associate of Arts and Science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Accounting and Sustainable Business (BASB), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and, of course, Master of Business Administration (MBA). It also maintains a degree completion program for adults in business management.
There are currently 897 students enrolled at KWU coming from Kansas and the neighboring states. With a student to faculty ratio of 14 to 1 and the average class size no bigger than 25, students are assured of quality time with their instructors.
Cost of attendance at KWU for academic year 2009-2010 for full-time undergraduate students taking up the required 18 hours of credit is US$25,800. This includes full-year tuition and fees plus room and board. For part-time students, cost of tuition is US$220 per credit hour. To assist students in paying for their cost of attendance, KWU is extending financial aid in the form of loans, grants and scholarships to those who are qualified.
