A premier independent Catholic university exists in Bellarmine University located at the edge of downtown, Louisville in Kentucky. The artful Highland neighborhood lends a fitting backdrop to one of the nation’s best colleges and universities. Bellarmine has distinguished itself in liberal arts education in the Catholic tradition since its founding in 1950.

The 135-acre campus houses 30 buildings, a health science center, seven residence halls, a chapel, campus center, a university quadrangle and a host of recreational facilities. Bellarmine’s architecture captures the essence of the beautiful hill towns of Tuscany in Italy which is the birthplace of the university’s patron, Saint Robert Bellarmine. The university is made up of the Bellarmine College of Arts and Sciences, the Donna and Allan Lansing School of Nursing and Heath Sciences, the W. Fielding Rubel School of Business, the Anorsley Frazier Thornton School of Education and The School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Bellarmine is the home of the celebrated W.L. Lyons Brown Library which is the information hub of the college.

Semester, year-long and summer study aboard programs are being offered by Bellarmine with over 50 majors in the arts and sciences, business, education, nursing and health sciences. Graduate degrees include MBA, MSN, MA in Teaching, MA in Education, MS in Laboratory Science, MA in Information Technology and MA Spirituality and Doctor of Physical Therapy. Total enrollment is about 2,600 while full-time faculty is 129. The student/faculty ratio is 12 to 1 while the average class size is 19.
Tuition and fees cost about $ 28,000.00 annually. Room rate averages $ 5,100.00 with a meal plan costing about $ 3,100.00. Part-time per credit hour is $ 640.00. Other one-time and mandatory fees may apply.
