Kentucky Christian University

Kentucky Christian University is a private, four-year undergraduate Christian university located in Grayson, Kentucky. Founded by J. W. Lusby and J. O. Snodgrass in 1919 as the Christian Normal College, the school’s initial goal was to provide a training program for would-be teachers. In the 1920s, the school’s goals shifted and it started educating students for the Christian ministry.

Today, the university is known for the various degree programs which it offers through its distinguished academic schools; namely, the School of Art and Science, the Sack School of Bible and Ministry, the School of Business, the Keeran School of Education, the School of Music, the School of Nursing, the School of Social Work and Human Services, and the Graduate School. All graduates of the university are required to complete a core program in Biblical Studies and Theology in addition to the core liberal arts education and the major area of study.

For academic year 2009-2010, the cost of tuition at the university is US$20,888 for resident students and US$15,088 for commuter students. These costs are broken down into full-year tuition of US$13,888, room & board at US$5,800 for resident students, student fees at US$200 and cost of books at US$1,000. Financial aid in the form of loans, grants and scholarship for qualified students is extended by the university to help students in paying for their cost of attendance.

On-campus housing is available for students who would rather live within the school premises than commute. There is a choice of double occupancy rooms or private rooms. Students have to apply for their desired room option at the office of the Director of Residence Services.
