Louisiana College

Louisiana College is a private institution of higher education located in Pineville, Louisiana. Founded in 1906, the college is affiliated with the Louisiana Baptist Convention and traces its beginnings to the all-male school, Mt. Lebanon University, and the all-female Keatchie Female College. After these two Louisiana Baptist Schools were plagued with financial problems, they came under the control of the Louisiana Baptist Convention in 1899 and an Education Commission was selected to oversee the schools with the understanding that, as soon as a good location was identified, a new college would be established that would merge these two. Thus, when Louisiana College was opened in 1906, Mt. Lebanon College was shut down and the Keatchie Female College followed a few years later.

Today, Louisiana College is one of the most recognized colleges in the south. It offers over 70 programs of study and grants degrees in Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of General Studies, and Master of Arts in Teaching.
